Discussion about
Streeteasy is a great site, but we should start a list of things that woulld help improve the functionality of the site 1. Allow users to send private messages to each other 2. If i have a bunch of listings saved, there should be a way for these listings to be marked when i do new searches 3. searches that allow you to search by apartments that are down x% from initial listing price (also by region) 4. More research using all of the data on the site...right now the data is too spread out would like to hear others
A keyword search would be great.
Squid -- can you do a keyword search by clicking "Description Includes" in the advanced search?
Allow users to remove certain listings from search results in order to narrow down. The same way that you can remove items from a saved open house list.
While we are it....can "pets allowed" be expanded....a 12 lb limit isn't really pet friendly! Cats and little dogs maybe, but my cats weigh more than that!!!
Is there a way to search which apartments recently went into contract? There's a way to do search which apartments recently had a price reduction, but I can't seem to find a way to use the search tool to find which ones when into contract within a certain period of time.
similar to flatironowner's request, i'd love to be able to search by closing date.
Facilitate pasting of tables such that column delimitations are retained.
And maybe even allow photos to be posted -- not of beautiful us, of course, but of other people's ugly apartments.
Allow the "advanced search" and school district features to be used together. For some bizarre reason, you can't search by sq. feet, price/sq. foot, amenities, etc. within a school district.
More customizable numbers (sqft, price, price/sqft, etc.) for searching.
I'd like to see a chart time series on the condo offering price per square foot (studio, one bedroom, two-bedroom, etc.) Snapshot that appears when you open up Streeteasy.com. (Similar to the time series that Noah offers on Urbandigs.com.)
Kphillycat, you can achieve that by doing a search that approximates what you want, then editing the URL.
I'd like some changes to the saved sales sections. Right now, there's no way to reorder across pages or even sort on various parameters. I have over 100 listings in one saved search, it's unmanagable. I'd like to be able to sort it in all the usual ways, but also by original listing date, original price, date I added it to my saved sales, and status (In contract, sold, etc). Oh! and on next open house (or at least let me filter my saved sales for a particular open house date).
(When I said saved search above, I meant saved sales. You can already sort search results of course)
Mandatory profiles with what school each poster went to and what their SAT score was.
