evnyc, how do we know this is the real malthus? i've been noticing some attempts at diversionary tactics from the name snatchers.

although this is much better writing than they usually offer. if it is the real malthus, don't give in. that's letting them win. just have SE clean up the matter, and post wherever you'd like, or not.

there are some people who are really trying to destroy this site. and they have been for awhile. it goes in cycles. some of us find humor in the efforts, others don't. people should just participate in whatever threads interest them, and ignore the rest, or marvel at the inanity. but as long as we maintain the community, and perservere, they won't truly win.

malthus, this happened to steve a while back and streeteasy was able to locate the offender. The folks at SE are pretty good about stuff like this.

The first one was the real one, the second the fake one. You can copy the name and paste it into Notepad or virtually anything else -- Dogpile search box, for example.

In fact (at least in Firefox), you can use the URL Location bar or search bar at the top of your browser -- or best yet here in this "Add your comment" box. It renders the capital i with serifs

malthus, I'll echo aboutready's comments. She's dead on - I've gotten a lot of great advice from some people here. Yeah, there's a lot of garbage to put up with sometimes, but most of it eventually goes away, especially if you ignore it.

Malthus - don't go, let SE fix the issue.
