sledge, have you seen a post by "The President" with no underscore, meaning someone trying to impersonate Alpine's new handle? If not, let's try to keep this thread serious. These impostors have got to go.

there cannot be anyone on SE by the name of "The President" without an underscore since the SE system does not allow you to have spaces in your user name if I recall correctly.

this is exactly the kind of petty back and forth that is diluting the value of these board. sledgehammer and The_President, the digs you take at each other are neither entertaining nor constructive. They clutter the board. Please see if you can find the restraint to refrain from the back and forth gripes.

mdasch, when stevejhx was first impersonated, it went unnoticed for days and he took a lot of criticism until bjw2103 caught it. The imposter account was canceled, but a new imposter quickly appeared with a different arrangement of j - h - x. The final solution was to ban the user's ISP. The abuse stopped cold and the suspected abuser's original account slowed to what seemed like occasional cyber-café posts, before falling off completely.

I'd rather not have to sit through abutready and Columbiacounty. Just cut the impersonators off.

Yes, all imposters are gone. Fortunately, we should all feel free to curse, insult, be racist or sexist or homophobic, make repeated sexual or scatalogical references, stretch the truth, lie, change topics instead of answering direct questions, promulgate conspiracy theories, talk about tv's hanging out of asses, only allow the popular kids to post without criticism and celebrate their birthdays, belittle other posters, make fun of where people live if not in prime Manhattan, make fun of where people live in prime Manhattan if there is a neighbor we don't like, scold people for never having bought when they could have 10 years ago and of course scold people for having bought in the past several years.

maybe se should just request a credit card number to verify identity before allowing a handle? Or better yet put an asterick to denote people who are paying SE(ers)?

the tv and the rear end are 100% my fault. there is something about the overall image that reduces me to an embarrassing fit of hilarious laughter. i can certainly understand that it is inappropriate; I am working hard on overall self improvement.

I prefer a good floorplan over children, and so, no one need worry what type of example I'm setting as I have no offspring underfoot.
