I wish I could remember the name of the noir movie that has a line to the effect of "more murders are committed at 96 degrees than any other temperature. Below that, they're not as hot-and-bothered; above that everyone's too hot to move."

It shows that air conditioning really does save lives ... and for that matter did the legal-abortion:murder rate reverse-correlation guys plot the rise of inner-city air conditioning with the drop in inner-city murders?

There is a chapter in Freakonomics devoted to the correlation of abortion and dropping crime.
