I used them for 3 years before just recently moving away from the area.
The service was very good. I started out at $350 per month. A year later it was increased to $375 per month. They tried to raise it twice since then to $400 per month but each time I complained to the manager and the rate was held steady at $375.

Walk around the neighborhood and look for garage doors which are closed in small to moderate sized buildings so you know they are unmanned lots. Go find the super of the building and ask about parking.

The building on 70th west of WEA has an unmanned garage, but full last time I checked a few years ago.

In the regular garages, LTG under Lincoln Towers and the new ones under Riverside South, the older the car the lower the price. They do try to jack it up every year, as snoopy said.

Sorry to latch onto your thread but anyone have any tips on cheap parking in Tribeca/BPC?

Is there a list of all self park/park & lock lots and garages in midtown? I need my car frequently and a self park is more ideal. The only one I know is on 42nd near PA.

I hope that you really use your car. I spent $45K on a car and after 7 years of parking costs and insurance, sold it with 30,000 miles for $13K. Hind sight, I should have had rented, or had a town car -- and saved the cost of the actual vehicle. Parking and insurance alone cost $600 per month. If you go away every weekend and have kids, it is worth the cost. If not, no.

$600 per month for parking and garage is cheap.

I drive my car almost every day and I hardly drive out of NYC.

Thanks for the information everyone. FYI, I found a garage on my block for $400/mo, a little less w/ the Manhattan tax break. And yes, I use my car quite a bit - 2 to 4 times per week for work, and every now and then on the weekends.

I hope you at least drive a Porsche Turbo or a Benz AMG.

We were paying over $500 at the Beacon Garage on W. 76th before it was demolished last summer. We moved to the parking garage attached to the Holiday Inn on W. 57th b/w 9th and 10th Aves, which charges $300 before the tax break. We only use our car once or twice a month - so taxi from W. 70s is not a problem, and we've been very happy. The lower price is well worth the low-budget tourist ambience.
