I post an ad on Craigslist a week ago looking for a 1bdrm apartment for around $1600, and one of the responses I received had me very excited. A woman contacted me about a condo on 225 W60th, all amenities included for only $1500. She told me that she was moving in with her boyfriend and won't be needing her apartment for awhile. Then I asked her for a copy of her proof of ownership documents,but she told me that the apartment belongs to her dead father, and the actual paperwork is with her mother in England. She said that she could provide me with last month's bill, salary letters from her company, and pay stubs instead. I was pretty insistent on the ownership docs though, so she said she's contact her mother. I'm still waiting to hear back from her, but something seems a little fishy. What do you guys think? Should I move on? [less]

move on..... you did not say if this was a coop or a condo. i wouldn't expect a family member to be able to rent it until the estate is settled.
