Discussion about
Yet another classic gem from nyc10022. Here he is quoting and responding to me: Me: "In no way shape or form is the NYC RE market as bad as the ones in Detroit and Phoenix." nyc10022: Yes, its worse. Yes, the NYC market is worse than the market of a city in a state with 14% unemployment where houses frequently sell for $1.

Alpine, alpine.... I know you are bitter that everyone calls you stupid. But that doesn't make it any less true.

You are STILL confused as to what "decline" means. You can repeat yourself 3 or 4x, but it won't teach you anything. You have to finish 3rd grade first.

You'll also learn to avoid mistakes like this one...

100 minutes is "over 2 hours"

But it at least partially explains your stupidity. I can understand how little you know about New York because you don't live here.

Of course, your other stupidity, well, that has no excuse.

NYC 10022 you have no F*** Clue. 100 W 57 Street. My bud Signed a contract for 480K still apartment shows in contract at the listed price. So F off and Wake up to reality and get ur numbers right. BTW you dont even have to do that . mmake sure you get the premium subscription of Street easy and then compare the "Sold" not "incontract " prices. cause brokers typically dont update the sold price. its done via acris...!!!

Hi,
I am new here in "streeteasy", but I have twitter.
So here is my comment:

Effectively the un-employment rate in NY is probably close to 14% as well....however our RE market doing much better than Detroit....

so if that is the case, that means that Detroit's unemployment rate si 20%. In Detroit and the surrounding areas, the market is so bad that they may actually start DEMOLISHING houses because there is nobody left to buy them.

Have you ever been to Detroit? Parts of the city have been virtually abandoned for 30+ years, downtown looks like a ghost town, and the housing stock of 20th century clapboard bungalows is not really worth saving.
