This listing for rent is 769 square feet, for rent at 4200/month. Corcoran is selling an identical floorplan, including identical measurements in the floorplan, at 685 square feet - Apt 9C - http://www.streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/34468-condo-25-murray-tribeca-new-york for 975K This isn't a buy vs. rent discussion, but I don't understand the different square footage measurements? Has anyone negotiated to buy, then gotten far in the process and negotiated a lower price because the square footage in the listing didn't hold up?

The rental is either 8C or 9C, as the C on other floors is a whole different apartment, around 1900 sf. Both 8C and 9C are ~685 sf.

Point out the error to the rental broker, and they'll correct it. Or not.
