We're looking for a 1 bedroom rental in Midtown West. We'd like to get a 1 year lease that we could break with something like 90 day notice. So far, I've only found Archstone management willing to let people do that. Goldfarb properties said no. We're not looking for sublets because we need an unfurnished place and most of the sublets on craigslist are furnished. Does any one know of other rental buildings that would offer such flexibility?
What about Rockrose? If you don't mind the Lincoln Tunnel that is. Also Related has a building in the 50's far west. And I think Brodsky has some buildings on 42nd. Rose Associates has the Ellington on 52nd. And I am pretty sure that Rose will let you out of a lease with that kind of notice. Check the lease though because it could vary.

Thanks for the suggestions kands10016.
We've been to the Elligton, we did not like the building's cheap finishes and the flimsy windows. I sent an email to agents at Brodsky to find out as well.
We're trying to stay east of 9th avenue adn north of 50th, further complicating matters. No Silver Towers for us. I'll check Related and Rockrose again.
Hi rear_window: Sorry that Ellington didn't work for you. I live in a Rose building on the east side and love it. Related's building (The Westport) is on 56 and 10th. Also, I'm not sure if this is too north for your but Ogden Cap Properties has two buildings in the high 60's that are in very convenient locations. Good luck!
Hi rear_window
I'd be very interested to hear if you had any success in finding other companies willing to be flexible. There is a chance I might be transferred for work and I don't want to be stuck with a 12 month lease.
Any further info would be much appreciated.
