As a rule of thumb, I think brokers promoting themselves in this thread should be avoided.

I don’t think that is fair, a few of the brokers on this site have distinguished themselves as real professionals. In NYC, 30 Years seems to be about as knowledgeable as they come and on this side, eastendagent seems very professional and helpful. But I would agree that most of the others seem like complete punters.

Village, your words are very appreciated- thank you.
As an agent out this way, the ONLY promotion of buyer agency in the Hamptons has come from Michael Daly, who does the Beachhamptons blog, so it does seem to make sense to put him on the list of agents to consider. Most don't understand the concept of both people/sides in a real estate transaction being treated with respect. If I'd read/heard of any others, I'd certainly provide their contact info, as well. They just don't "get it" in the Hamptons, but an agent that understands the area is important, and it appears from the blog that Michael lives out there.

The Hamptons Real Estate Blog discusses East End business and agents as well as issues around buyer agency. jrnonlinere will be more informed of his/her choices. It was not a solicitation of business. Thanks eastendagent.

I used marcella o'callaghan at corcoran this summer to rent a house in southampton and thought she was great...respectful, not pushy, but knew the market pretty well...and no i am not a broker (i post mostly in NYC threads)
