This area of Brooklyn is so unlike the image tht some have of Brooklyn. There are wide, tree-lined streets with driveways and houses with front and side entrances and balconies on each floor.

This is true. There are parts of Brooklyn that are absolutely gorgeous. But quiet. Very quiet and suburban -- which is fine if that's what you're looking for.

But to describe it as a 30-minute train ride to Manhattan is misleading. It may be 30 minutes literally to the Manhattan border -- but more like an hour to Midtown.
