Best waterfront locations for young kids

I live on Big Fresh pond in SH. It is fantastic for kids and a bit of a secret.

Thanks for the suggestion. On the satellite images looks like not much sandy beachfront, but great for child-friendly boating. Will be out there visiting this weekend...will check it out.

I am a broker with Agawam Realty in Southampton village and resident of Southampton in the Shores and can highly recommend Southampton Shores, a waterfront community on the Peconic Bay. This community is family oriented and has a beautiful, private, BIG sandy beach with pavillion, 3 tennis courts, private marina, basketball courts, softball field, shuffleboard courts, swings set on the beach for the young ones etc. There are several listings in this community that I would love to show you. Dwest- I recently stayed at a house on Cold Spring Pt Road. I assume this is the same area? Very nice indeed, and great for the kids. I can't be out there for the next several weeks. Can you point me to any listings online?

Flatironj- didn't have a chance to check out Big Fresh Pond area. Too crazy with the 3 kids and our friends had a lot more planned for us than we expected. Next time...

Cold Spring Point is not the same area, however it is nice too. There are more amenities especially as a homeowner in Southampton Shores and other neighboring waterfront communities along the Peconic Bay plus they are closer to the other major towns in the Hamptons... quick hop to Water Mill, Bridge and Sag Harbor. (also by boat a 5-7 min. hop to the North Fork or close to the ferry to take a nice ride)Lots of little back roads also to cut the traffic so you rarely need to get onto Hwy 27. I do need a starting point for the search so please provide approx. price range you are willing to work with, number of beds/baths needed, if pool is desired and any other criteria you would like. I too had a getaway home with 3 children and tons more visiting at my house when they were growing up and they had a ball in this area.
