Discussion about The Paris New York at 752 West End Avenue in Upper West Side
I'm thinking of movie into the Paris. I know they're doing a lot of construction. Anyone know if there are serious problems (elevator delays, rodents) because of this?
This appears to be converting.
make sure your bedroom faces the back. That is a very noisy stretch of WEA.
Don't do it. We moved in last year and are counting the days until we move out. The building is nothing special and they currently are having major problems keeping apartments heated. Also the ceilings and walls are flimsy -- we can hear everything going on above and next door to us. The neighborhood is sketchy and there are rodents everywhere. Its location to Riverside Park and the subway are nice and the building staff is friendly, but that's about all this place has going for it. There are plenty of buildings in the city that are near parks and subways and are much nicer. Finally, the owners' tactics are questionable. The building converted and although it was a "non-eviction" plan they've increased rents on lease renewals by as much as 70%.
I have heard that there are a lot of rent control/stabilized apartments in the building. Not sure whether true or not but if so it can create problems for condo owners given presence the Sponsor has on the Board
