A 217-unit theater district co-op has apparently spent $250,000 getting rid of bed bugs. Their blitzkrieg approach was smart, but a tab this big could be devastating to smaller buildings. Wondering if anyone will start selling insurance policies against bed bugs soon. http://www.brickunderground.com/blog/2009/07/the_250000_bedbug_bill
Oy, can you imagine? I've not had to learn much about them 'cause I've not had to deal with them but they have become a huge problem of late after having retreated to myth & lore. I wonder why THEY'RE B-A-C-K?
Prevailing theories about their return involve the ban of the pesticide DDT and an increase in global travel. The ease by which people recirculate furniture through craigslist and ebay these days doesn't help either.
Check THIS out. My building's clean.... thank god.
