Discussion about
A number of you have asked about baby JuiceMan, and I am happy to report the arrival of a bouncing baby boy (all 8 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches of him!) Mom and baby are doing great, dad is like a deer in headlights but has already begun reading rent vs. buy stories to him.

Don't move to Long Island City - you don't want anything untoward to happen to the little fellow what with all the pollution and toxic waste there!

I wonder how long it will take baby juiceman to log on with a little 2cents. I can see it now.....

Recently moved into the city. Seems to be a roomate situation but, the roomies seem attentive. Since I just arrived I've been over doing it which makes me puke too much. They tell me that will go away. I know eveyone complains about the space in Manhattan but, compared to the last place I had (tiny studio, no view, no light, landlord in the building always complaining). This space seems spacious! And the light! don't get me started. Since this is my first time on the board let me get this out of the way so I never have to type this again...Your all Morons!
Love,
Baby Juiceman

That is wonderful news. I take it this is the first little JuicePerson. You will look back at August 13, 2009 as the best day of your life. None of life's transitions are as transformative as going from not being to being a parent.

JuiceMAN... you the man... forget the diaper genie, useless in NYC when a trash compactor is down the hall... in 10 months get yourself a running stroller, grt to get a little exercise and put little one to sleep... did the 1.8Mile loop as fast as i could, little one always asleep by the carousel. SLEEP whenever there is a chance...spread out on the conference table... it's okay... we understand... we'll just eat around you and keep quiet.... CONGRATS! I've got tons more info on baby.....

Btw, buy one of those portable restaurant seats sort of like this http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15135956&RN=7042& (we had a different brand.) Best $25 I ever spent. Gotta train NY kids to enjoy dining out early!

Hi Daddy,

Here are a few things I've learned on Streeteasy.

1) As a result of having a new dependent, you'll have slightly lower taxes. However, you can't deduct that from your calculation of how much I'll cost until I'm 21 because the deduction is applied against your taxes and not against my cost. If you didn't have income and pay taxes, you wouldn't get any tax benefit from me.

2) When considering how much you love me, you must take into account the opportunity cost of not sleeping. In addition, while mommy is hot (great milkers!!), she has gotten a bit big recently and you have to consider the opportunity cost of, well, I don't know what that is quite yet.

3) Historically, the daddy to son age differential ratio is 22. In recent decades as parents want to establish themselves in this economic and social bubble, the differential ratio has gone up to 28. Sorry to tell you, but despite our recent introduction I'm actually six years old. Please get me appropriate presents for the birthday I just had.

4) You will find that my diaper is full of poop and you have to clean it up. LMAO

_________

Falco - loved the repsonse - the only thing I would add to that is: compared to the last place that I had (tiny studio, no view, no light, landlord in the building always complaining - and what a rough eviction process!).

Juice - speaking as another new dad, congratulations and savor every moment with your little one - mine is 6 months old now and I can't believe (and you won't believe) how fast they grow up! Despite differences in perspective on renting versus owning you and I will be in total agreement on the speed at which children grow up soon enough!

I second the recommendation for a jogging stroller - great way for baby to sleep while you get exercise and give mom some rest too. We got ours when our kid was 6 months, and still use it well over a year later.

The Jogging stroller is also your 'ALL TERAIN' off-roading city stroller. Bounding over curbs and steps up steep cental park hills and plowing through crowds in Grand Cental Station on your way to visit you suburban buddies and their babies. It was our best baby purchase and most used. Here's my tip, industrial, light weight, easy to fold and the 'jogging' type tires not stroller style wheels.

Can't believe I missed the big day. Congratulations, Juice, and big e-hug to JuiceMom. One bedtime story tip: when he's old enough for the scarier ones, substitute "trolls" for "Crusties." Makes them much more contemporary.

Thanks for all the kind words (and inside jokes of course). Nice to have such a great group of anonymous friends.

"14% discount in 22 months"

LMAO

"Flowers every Friday for the next 18 years?"

I think that is likely tenemental. Not just because of the boys, but I can be a pain in the ass to live with. I'm sure that is shocking to most of you.

"Congrats to Baby Juiceman 1.0 on the promotion to management."

He appreciates the new role but has asked for a raise. Right now, a couple extra trucks and toy taxi has done the trick.

"Do we have to move again?"

No moving, staying right where we are. Love living on the UWS.

"May your wife stay milfy."

w67th, that would be a great birthday card. You should work for Hallmark.
