A number of you have asked about baby JuiceMan, and I am happy to report the arrival of a bouncing baby boy (all 8 lbs 9 oz and 21 inches of him!) Mom and baby are doing great, dad is like a deer in headlights but has already begun reading rent vs. buy stories to him.
CONGRATS JUICE! Wishing your now bigger family lots of happiness for many years to come!
congrats!! all the best. rent vs. buy stories may be the best sleep aid ever!
How wonderful. Congrats Juiceman. Welcome to a whole new exciting world. See you at the playground!
Congrats.
Remember: the moral of the story is 12x!
8 lbs. 9 oz? Poor mom! Happy Daddy!
Congrats to you both!

Go JuiceBoy!
Good luck, get as much sleep as you can, and eat plenty of fruit.
JuiceMan, that's great - best of luck to all 3 of you! And go easy on the little guy with those stories - they are pretty horrifying sometimes.
Don't move to Long Island City - you don't want anything untoward to happen to the little fellow what with all the pollution and toxic waste there!
Baby juice is your best investment so far........!
downside: Expensive upkeep
Upside: Humongous Yield
Welcome JuiceBaby!
We'll be looking forward to many rambling postings at ridiculous hours of the night.
JM - Congratulations to you and your wife!!!
When he's a little older you can read him, "Steve and The great tax deduction debates of 2009". Seriously though, all the best!
Congratulations to the Juice Family! May your newest vintage ripen into the finest wine while Mom and Dad beam with pride...and enjoy some sleep along the way!!!
Welcome to the world, JuiceBaby! Best wishes to the whole Juicy family. Maybe JuiceBaby will grow up to be a mega real-estate broker? The next Babs Corcoran?
;)
Congratulations JM. My doctor told me babies don't sleep through the night until they are at least 10 pounds, so keep that baby juiced up!
I wonder how long it will take baby juiceman to log on with a little 2cents. I can see it now.....
Recently moved into the city. Seems to be a roomate situation but, the roomies seem attentive. Since I just arrived I've been over doing it which makes me puke too much. They tell me that will go away. I know eveyone complains about the space in Manhattan but, compared to the last place I had (tiny studio, no view, no light, landlord in the building always complaining). This space seems spacious! And the light! don't get me started. Since this is my first time on the board let me get this out of the way so I never have to type this again...Your all Morons!
Love,
Baby Juiceman
Congrats!
Happy Healthy Life!
Very clever Falcon
That is wonderful news. I take it this is the first little JuicePerson. You will look back at August 13, 2009 as the best day of your life. None of life's transitions are as transformative as going from not being to being a parent.
Congrats. That's some big juice.
A little Malthusia joined us this month as well. A next generation of data extrapolation arguments on the way...
JuiceMAN... you the man... forget the diaper genie, useless in NYC when a trash compactor is down the hall... in 10 months get yourself a running stroller, grt to get a little exercise and put little one to sleep... did the 1.8Mile loop as fast as i could, little one always asleep by the carousel. SLEEP whenever there is a chance...spread out on the conference table... it's okay... we understand... we'll just eat around you and keep quiet.... CONGRATS! I've got tons more info on baby.....
Juiceman - congrats on Juice Jr! We just had ours 7 months ago (to the day) and I'm starting to wonder where all the time went. Take lots of pictures for memories...
maybe little malthusia and babyjuice can get together for baby playdates. provide plenty of blocks and other manipulatives, who knows what the future could bring!!
malthus, a big congrats to you also.
Baby StreetEasy - sigh!
Congrats, JM.
Hilarious, falco.
Juice, Malthus and Kands - CONGRATULATIONS! Be fruitful and multiply! BUY BUY BABY beware!
Btw, buy one of those portable restaurant seats sort of like this http://www.buybuybaby.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=15135956&RN=7042& (we had a different brand.) Best $25 I ever spent. Gotta train NY kids to enjoy dining out early!
Btw, have you guys applied to school yet?!
Congrats all new parents!
Falco, you have a gift.
Thank you for all of the kind words and support, you are all the best anonymous friends a guy can wish for. Congrats to Malthus and Kands as well!
falco, you cracked up my entire family, thanks for the gift.
Hi Daddy,
Here are a few things I've learned on Streeteasy.
1) As a result of having a new dependent, you'll have slightly lower taxes. However, you can't deduct that from your calculation of how much I'll cost until I'm 21 because the deduction is applied against your taxes and not against my cost. If you didn't have income and pay taxes, you wouldn't get any tax benefit from me.
2) When considering how much you love me, you must take into account the opportunity cost of not sleeping. In addition, while mommy is hot (great milkers!!), she has gotten a bit big recently and you have to consider the opportunity cost of, well, I don't know what that is quite yet.
3) Historically, the daddy to son age differential ratio is 22. In recent decades as parents want to establish themselves in this economic and social bubble, the differential ratio has gone up to 28. Sorry to tell you, but despite our recent introduction I'm actually six years old. Please get me appropriate presents for the birthday I just had.
4) You will find that my diaper is full of poop and you have to clean it up. LMAO
who cares?? yesterday some blow-hard blogger who used to be a day trader and can't even sell an apartment announces he's still going to do nothing but without a corporate backer, and today we get a baby announcement.

Falco - loved the repsonse - the only thing I would add to that is: compared to the last place that I had (tiny studio, no view, no light, landlord in the building always complaining - and what a rough eviction process!).
Juice - speaking as another new dad, congratulations and savor every moment with your little one - mine is 6 months old now and I can't believe (and you won't believe) how fast they grow up! Despite differences in perspective on renting versus owning you and I will be in total agreement on the speed at which children grow up soon enough!

teheheheeeeeeheheheeeee
wtf
wow twolouies. You're quite the charmer.
Conflatulations
twolouies has something, but it's not charm.
I second the recommendation for a jogging stroller - great way for baby to sleep while you get exercise and give mom some rest too. We got ours when our kid was 6 months, and still use it well over a year later.
The Jogging stroller is also your 'ALL TERAIN' off-roading city stroller. Bounding over curbs and steps up steep cental park hills and plowing through crowds in Grand Cental Station on your way to visit you suburban buddies and their babies. It was our best baby purchase and most used. Here's my tip, industrial, light weight, easy to fold and the 'jogging' type tires not stroller style wheels.
Congrats from the StreetEasy crew!

lol!!!
congratulations!
Can't believe I missed the big day. Congratulations, Juice, and big e-hug to JuiceMom. One bedtime story tip: when he's old enough for the scarier ones, substitute "trolls" for "Crusties." Makes them much more contemporary.
malthus, kands10016, congrats as well. Health and happiness to everyone.
falco, bravo.
fabulous -- congratulations
Naturally, I'm quite skeptical about all of this. JuiceMan, please post your links.
tenemental, we really need to get a beer. I'll ping you when the craziness eases.
"Naturally, I'm quite skeptical about all of this. JuiceMan, please post your links."
Why would that be natural?
congrats, juice
BabyJuice # 2 has arrived, 7 lbs 6 oz baby boy. All are doing well, reading "lowering your cost of ownership" to him daily.
congratulations!!!
So this baby is 7lb, 6oz, and the prior baby was 8lb, 9oz. What does that say?
14% discount in 22 months.
Congrats!
*cheers, whistling, applause*
Congrats, Juice. Wonderful, wonderful news. And for the lovely JuiceMom in that house full of boys, maybe paint a room pink? Flowers every Friday for the next 18 years? No complaining when she wants to watch the Lifetime network?
Great news, JM. Congratulations, and have fun.
Baby Juiceman 2.0
Much luck in life love and...real estate.
Congrats to Baby Juiceman 1.0 on the promotion to managment.
Congratulations, JM. Enjoy.
Congrats, JM! See you in 18 years.
"reading "lowering your cost of ownership" to him daily.""
That's what happens when you overpay.
But otherwise, congrats on JuiceLet II.
congrats, JM!
Congrats, JuiceMan! May he never rent in the Ellington! And I second tenemental's advice - keeping the lady of the house happy is an even better investment than your apartment.
"May he never rent in the Ellington!"
I second that!
Congrats JuiceMan! Get some sleep.
Congrats juicy. Here's a little unicorn stuffed animal for him.
May your wife stay milfy. Now get some sleep.
Do we have to move again? Where's momma?
Congrats! Can we expect a third in another 22 months?
Thanks for all the kind words (and inside jokes of course). Nice to have such a great group of anonymous friends.
"14% discount in 22 months"
LMAO
"Flowers every Friday for the next 18 years?"
I think that is likely tenemental. Not just because of the boys, but I can be a pain in the ass to live with. I'm sure that is shocking to most of you.
"Congrats to Baby Juiceman 1.0 on the promotion to management."
He appreciates the new role but has asked for a raise. Right now, a couple extra trucks and toy taxi has done the trick.
"Do we have to move again?"
No moving, staying right where we are. Love living on the UWS.
"May your wife stay milfy."
w67th, that would be a great birthday card. You should work for Hallmark.
Congrats JM.
What rhymes with milfy?
Congratulations JuiceMan! I think I know what your hobby is. Ha! Two boys...well, you will have your hands full! Enjoy the best part of life, watching your kids grow up.
congrats, juice... that's great.
juice - i will pray for you.
