it happened at 6pm. 5 shots. one person taken to st. vincents in critical condition. so far it's only been on ny1.

i don't know if it "says a lot". someone was shot and killed on avenue c yesterday as well. it only said something to me because i walked right by it.

i saw what looked like a gunshot hole in a vacant WaMu today. i had mixed feelings, i must confess, wtih amusement definitely present.

Wasn't there some Moore documentary about gun control? The one thing I remember is that Canada *does* have lots of guns per capita; they just use them on each other less than we do.

When checking out the penthouses at 420 west 25th st and looking over the rows of housing project windows, I thought to myself, "Wow, what lovely target me and my guests would make for a bb gun, paint gun, real gun."

The fact that all those young wall street types have to walk past those projects to their 4 million dollar apartments at the Caledonia, it is surprising that there are not more gun shot incidents. I would be resentful as hell if I lived in those projects and I saw those young guys who lived for years on money skimmed from the poor (sub primers) and then when the s@#$ hit the fan, they got bailed out. Try calming those project dwellers down by telling them how resentful people are about their food stamps. Then let them know the govt. hasn't forgotten them -- they can get an $8000 deduction off their taxes for a first home if they can only come up with another million nine hundred ninety two for an incredibly cramped two bedroom next door.
