Discussion about
W67.... are you seriously angry at P-Shrimpie for requesting clarification on your note? While I agree the insinuation made was in bad taste, so are a great majority of the comments you make on a daily basis, including the constant reference to your big p*nis, frequent cussing and earlier reference to fondling P-Shrimpie's boobies. (Where's MM123 cybercop when we need him?). I can hardly believe you, of all people, would ever fathom suing anyone, particularly for writing something inappropriate on this forum.
indeed, aside maybe from columbiacounty the worst offender on this board
You are both idiots. Stop the nonsense.
mimi, are you in charge somehow?
I have been enjoying this board for a year now, and I know what posters are valuable. You are not. If your only value you add is posts refered to w67th, you are just adding nothing.
Careful, Jimmy, you're running the risk of having Mimi "ignore" you...
Mimi, in all seriousness, would you disagree that W67 could tone down his messages on this site? If his message were G-rated to begin with, the entire rude connection would not have been possible! What's the word P*nis doing on this real estate site ANYWAY!? I am truly blown away that you would come to his defense and not see the actions HE took which lead up to the unfortunate comment.
There's a fine line between tasteless and illegal. I think that was over the line given shrimp's only purpose has been to follow one blogger on line for a full 9 months and continually put him down. The accusation of incest and pedophilia is over the line. Even so I am giving shrimpie an opportunity to retract that one statement and let us know who shrimpie's long time persona on se is.
I am a man of means and never started a legal action against anyone, but this may change that.
have any of you been on dealbreaker? it is regularly listed as one of the top websites, gets great traffic. covers finance, economics. bess levin is profane as hell.
I am a grownup. I am not insulted by the use of the word penis. Since I have enjoyed w67th peculiar style at times, and I think he is a highly interesting and intelligent individual, I put up with his occasional far-outs. He is a comedian, and some people doesn't like that kind of humor, as some don't like, say, George Carlin. I actually understand where w67th is coming from, and many people that has read his posts for a long time do too.
Now, if your problem is what does his sense of humor have to do with RE, you have to understand that part of the beauty of SE is the multiplicity of issues that get debated here. From parenting to gold prices to cancer treatments to travel tips, there is a lot of subjects that are explored in this site. This enriches the talk, since housing is not separated form everyday life. If you don't want the way it is, you can just don't open it. That's the beauty of it.
I have asked w67th to tone down his posts Nevertheless, this is a public forum, and he can write what he sees fit. And I think that that's fine. I have more trouble with people that comes to SE just to pick a fight with him, which only makes him more touretty, or people asking SE to intervene like school teachers. This is a waste of time for everybody, and I can't quite understand the ulterior motives of these posters. What are you? Do you devote your life to proper posting by others?
its clear you devote at least part of yours to defending other posters
Yep, since SE got so popular, there has been an attempt to hurt this site's frequent posters, particularly the bears. I am neither (I am a side line buyer). I didn't enjoy the treatment that Shawn guy got, but you have to understand that many of us have experienced the dark side of RE brokerage and the anger, which ultimately will change the trade, is coming out in ugly ways, as it usually does.
here's a dealbreaker item from today. this is NOT a commentor. this is the writer. this is a mainstream (albeit feisty) blog that Felix Salmon linked to while at Conde Nast Portfolio. i linked to the piece earlier on the east hamptons thread.
Looking for a last minute party this Labor Day? Look no further. Do it in debatable style in the comfort of a Montauk home that just went on the market. That's right girlfriends, we're talking about Bernie's beach house, which could be yours if you've got between one and seven million dollars to spend. While we agree that the spread isn't the most aesthetically pleasing place money will buy, CNNMoney is working overtime this morning to convince potential buyers that this place is a dump not worth more than a ten-spot and certainly not the millions US Marshals are seeking* (perhaps in an attempt to drive down the price before swooping in and snapping it up themselves).
What are the views like? Nice, the arbiters of taste concede, but that's where the good times end the tacky-ass kitchen begins. The rest of the home is "unremarkable considering its previous occupant's staggering wealth," we're told. "Think Formica countertops and smallish bedrooms." Oh shit, bitches-- was this review written by the size queen du jour? Probably but we've got more backhanded compliments to get to. Does the place give off a relaxed vibe? Yes, but the sort you'd find in a trailer park where one wouldn't be bashful about putting his feet up or tracking shit through the rug. "A visitor probably wouldn't hesitate to walk in with sandy shoes," Les Christie writes. As for the furniture, which the house doesn't even come with (you'll have to provide your own exercise bike for the master bedroom)? "The sectional sofas look built for comfort rather than style, and the rugs don't make any big statements either." Seriously? Or are you just fucking with us, Les? It'd better be the latter 'cause I need the rugs I'm not buying to speak to me! I need them to dance! You dig? It doesn't matter that they'll be long gone by the time I move in-- I'll know they were once there, laying on the floor, like--like rugs or something, making everyone uncomfortable by not saying anything, and it will fuck with my aura, not to mention my flow. Pretty sure I'm not alone here.
Now that I've regained my composure, how 'bout the fact that the home is a mere 150 feet from the beach, a distance federal zoning laws no longer permit-- that's pretty sweet, right? Yeah if you wanna die. It's only because CNN care about you that they say this: "The proximity means...the home faces a big flood risk.
W67. I understand and would agree that such an accusation would likely qualify as "libelous" per the prior blogger's definitions, but I don't think P-Shrimpie "outright" stated you were a pedophile. While I can honestly appreciate your concerns, I hope you can seriously consider your own recent accusations over the past days to an unfortunate broker who, albeit a bit dismissive over his client's frustration, did not appear to deserve to be called a "nimrod", "unreliable", "self-important", "idiot", "unreliable". Aside from appearing to be false statements, they too could prove to be damaging to his careeer, yet you (and your friends) have enjoyed a good laugh at his expense without regard for the harm you might've caused.
P-Shrimpie should apologize to you- you should apologize to many- and we should all start using this site as is intended--- FOR HEALTHY, PRODUCTIVE, REAL ESTATE DISCUSSIONS.
stoogeh8tr and jimhones09, i would take one w67th st over a thousand of you anyday.
stoogeh8tr -- please stop yelling.
people have a right to bearish opinions absolutely. they have a right to express those opinions. they should not however insult and name call people who dont agree with them.
stooge, you really don't think SE would have changed things if they felt it was detrimental to their business model? sites create rules all the time.
we have spent a great deal of time and effort nurturing this community, bulls and bears. at a given time there is more of one than the other, but this is an exciting project and we are part of it.
mimi is right, there are many who come on here, in rolling waves, and do their best to subvert this group. we have little problem with bulls or bears, although some aren't so smart on either side of the equation, we just want HONESTY. sometimes it gets out of hand, but i like it here and sometimes a day of having someone continually post rebuttals to me which are lame and misleading will set me off, and it may not be apparent, because it may be on a different thread. or being told i have no life will get to me. i do, but so what if i didn't? making the real estate world more transparent for all isn't a bad goal, and i enjoy taking part in it.
so columbiacounty makes the real estate world more transparent by telling people who express opinion to go fuck themselves?
what opinion about real estate have you expressed. please send link.
that's not the point. this is a site that is working for SE. the tensions, and the arguments, and the friendships, they create an interesting and provocative environment. what would be the worst thing for SE? for this to be called boring. and in the meantime, there are some gems of info that can be found here.
use the ignore button. you won't be hurting cc's feelings. or mine.
find one of your own where you don't insult someone that doesn't offer a different opinion than yours
bit of a challenge?
not gonna play with you. not interested in your judgements of me or anyone else.
