CONGRATULATIONS !!!!!!!!!! Hope the process wasn't too gruesome. More importantly, hope you'll be healthy & happy & prosperous in your new home! Yes, where is it? What is it? When's the party? Come on, spill!

closed on a two bed on the UWS on Columbus. Process was painless, had a good lawyer and good mortgage broker. Seller's broker was very professional and actually did a great job helping us out. Started looking in Jan, Bid on March, in contract late March and Closed yesterday. It is a great place, not big, not small not ultra luxurious but not a rat hole either.
Cant wait to move in and get on with my life

Good for you! Congratulations. Nice neighborhood, good price per sq. ft. How was the board interview?

We've been looking (and subletting) for over a year, moving Monday (again) into a regular rental because we couldn't find the "one" for us. Know waht you mean about "getting on with your life" and hope to be in that podition a year from now.

I wonder, Curious, since you had such a good experience with all of these people, should you share their names so that others can have the benefit of working with them and reward them for their professionalism? Hmmmmm........

I agree there is value in "being done and getting on with one's life"... I just closed this week after a couple months process and it's a relief... I thought I got just a decent deal at the time but found out offers have been made recently on smaller apts in my building for significantly more than I paid...

I'm not going to take much stock in that until I see it on the city records, but it is nice bonus to know nonetheless. Now onto some renovations and party throwing!

Owning is such a proud and rewarding thing PERIOD. Renters can never learn to appreciate or understand it. All those number crunchers and weekend analysts brainiacs who think they can rationalize why they shouldnt purchase because there is $100 spread of the difference between renting and owning the same place are just blowing it up their ass and missing out on opportunities. Owning is so much better than renting anyway you look at it. CONGRATS!!!

Thank you, OP. I just thought that it might be a nice gesture, free publicity & an honest referral & testimonial if you were to put their names on the board but I guess you might want to check with them first. But I do think it's reassuring to get a referral from an SE alum, particularly one who had such a great time of it.
