Discussion about
anyone know anything about these buildings? there seems to be no data here on streeteasy. i was trying to look up past sales but cant seem to find anything. anyone live here and like/dislike it? is the private garden really private? hows the security around the building? there seems to be plenty of nooks and crannies where someone can hide. thanks for any info.

might be one of the guliest looking buildings in the city. The building has ZERO curb appeal. I went to school at SUNY Albany and they look just like the dorms on campus, massive concrete structures. Rumor was that ALbany dorms were designed after a prison, makes me think of that when I look at Kips Bay Towers just my opinion for whatever it is worth

My first thought when I saw them was yes, very monolithic, but I saw an interior shot on a website & it looked rather nice & the views looked good & the windows are set back for shade. It is very much a 60s style; the concrete walls were poured in place. Does anyone else have experience with these buildings?

I looked at one apartment in this building (a studio) a couple of years ago. It seemed okay and pretty well laid out. The view of the river was nice. As I recall, the lobby was huge, with glass on all sides, and clean, and there are full-time doormen. The place is rather set apart from its surroundings, which helps with light and views, but it doesn't have that cozy New York street feeling.

OP here, i was wonder if anyone had any experience living in one of the units. if the walls were thin or if the staff was friendly, are the residents friendly, etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.

from the outside, the building looks very dated... i hear the hallways were recently redone.
