Discussion about
would be interested in hearing from everyone concerning coops that are particularly good or bad ( i.e. poorly run, unfriendly board; bad financials etc) for example from previous posters it appears 400 e 77th has bad financials; new assessments and possibly an unfriendly board-- would be interested in other comments concerning the best and the worst

1056 5th Avenue ranks as the worst coop on 5th. See wallfly.com for details.

It all really depends on the coop itself. You typically hear mostly about the bad ones because they make for interesting stories.

Many of my friends live in coops and haven't had any problems dealing with the board, etc. I also just bought a coop - they reviewed my application immediately and my meeting with 2 board members was more of a 'welcome to the building' than an interview.

But there are also issues. Again, it all really depends on the b uilding. A good realtor would know which ones are finicky and which are easy.
