absolutely love this guy (Mohamed El-Erian)!

related with people dropping out of the labor force, the Social Security Admin just said they underestimated by 50% the amount of people asking for retirement benefits (at 62 they somehow were imho very underestimated to begin with) but there were also 50% more than expected disability claims. to my surprise, the applications for disability were higher than for retirement, but probably the acceptance rate is low (and with retirement claims is very high).
