Discussion about 155W68 at 155 West 68th Street in Lincoln Square
I responded in another thread but apparently there are issues with water and noise. I live in the area and was honing in on this building because I like the fact that it is a condo. I spoke to a few people who live there now and they say it has deteriorated over the years. Plus they have been putting in new rules making it feel like it is not a condo anymore. Many are unhappy with the no dog policy.
I also looked at some open houses there and the building is not in good condition. Hallways etc. need work and two of the open house's I went to the apartments were dirty and run down. Maybe they should enforce rules about cleanliness over not allowing dogs.
i looked at a few apartments here recently but I am concerned about potential noise from the construction site on Amsterdam. Does anyone have any information on that project and how it will impact life in the Dorchester?
@ JCassy:
I live on a low floor facing Broadway side. I thought about replacing some windows when I first bought, but it's very quiet, so I didn't bother.
I face the construction on Amsterdam and it's pretty bad. Additionally, there was a lot of construction at the new synagogue across the street at all hours of the day any night. Apparently, special permits were issued to allow this. And often times, random work is being done on Amsterdam Avenue at all hours of the night. Last night, two trucks began work at 11pm.
Also, there has been a waterbug problem in the building.
@jenny76:
How do you find the building and location (besidess the noise)? Is mgmt responsive and exerminating for the bugs?
