Is there a good, centralized database or website that has a lot of old (1850's to 1940's) pictures of the upper east side? I enjoy seeing pictures of my neighborhood (including landmarks) from many year ago. Ideas?

New York public library (nypl.org) has an astounding number of pictures in its digital library. Also look at images of books on amazon.com or google.

Try the Museum of the City of New York. They have extensive photo archives.

Those sites have pictures, however they arent neighborhood specific (from what I could find). I did find the following forum that does have some interesting old pictures, however I want more!
