What code did they use? Is it a cc company/bank doing a routine inquiry/search, or is it an actual request that would have to be authorized by you?

you better investigate this ASAP since this can be an indicator of identity theft. Take action ASAP before it is too late.

Welcome to the information age.

Pretty much anyone with an account with one of the Big Three credit ratings agencies can do this to anyone, at any time.
