Discussion about
Wonder what's going on. Do you think rentals are on hold? Repricing?

they're not renting anything right now. just a guess, but i'd think they're preparing for bankruptcy. can't rent out apartments at market rate post-ruling, they have no impetus to rent anything right now. pricing for the market rate apartments hasn't been determined yet. vacant RS apartments could be renovated to increase rents, but TS wouldn't want to commit those monies now, also wouldn't want to rent them at current RS rates.

this will take a bit of time to sort out.

I called. They are taking a list now. They told me some of the apartments the rents will rise and some will probably drop. Wish I had called Monday to be first on the list but alas I'm 3 days late. Hopefully I'm not too far down. We shall see. They said it could take weeks or months. Nobody knows yet - depends upon the courts they told me

Will any of the elevators/washing machines be working by the time this is ironed out?

when this is ironed (nice pun) out is when the washers will probably be functional again.

I called my LL (not stuy town) and the leasing agent said they don't know what's going on regarding the court ruling. It seems they're all waiting for the other shoe to drop.

AR, it seems to me like an occupied RS apt is worth more to them than an empty one. At least they have some cash flow from it.

I live in PCV, and find it much easier to send Laundry out. At 75 cents/pound it makes more sense since they're constantly increasing the price per load.

a_g, but it locks in the RS rate until another vacancy. with renovations they can up the base rent. i doubt they are going to be the ones to decide in the end, but i'd guess they'll just leave them empty for now.

i send mine out as well. plenty of places around here to do so.
