It's finally come to that dreaded time - have to repaint. Can anyone recommend a really good painter? Walls need some work and I prefer oil-based paint. Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated.
I loved my painter Tony .. regularly recommend him to clients and used him myself on our new UWS place. But of course I have to find his card ...watch this space.

Ali: Would he take on a tedious job like sanding down some doors (recently, but hastily painted) and giving them another coat of oil paint?
oil paint is prohibited bt some coops -- check your bylaws or you can be fined....
Front_porch, and Prada, thanks very much - will call them.
Prada-is your painter authorized to do work at the Millennium, i.e. does he use 'approved' paints and techniques?
fleurdelys....Juan works for Milford Management (Milstein) and does work on the side. Do you live in the Millennium in BPC? I live here now and he did work for me (and friends) in other Liberty buildings in BPC. I will have him paint in my apt at the Millennium soon and I will purchase the "approved green" paints for him to use.
nyc10023 .. call him, and find out... I think contractors are like real estate agents, in that the size and scope of work that's "interesting" depends heavily on how light or full one's schedule is...

If you need another quote, I can highly recommend our painter: Jose Loaiza, he did amazing work (including oil painting) for our place. His email is loaizajou57@aol.com. You can say that Christine recommended him.
Prada-we own and are currently renting out our apartment--lived there for a short time before renting it--we may be moving back in the spring so this info is very useful-if/when we do move back, would love to meet/talk to you
