Discussion about
FINALLY getting ready to move in our new apt in GV. Any advice on which TV service you would recommend. We will have 2 flat screens and a seperate media room (finally, I get something). I hate Time Warner. RCN was pretty good to me at old place. I hear Verizon looks pretty good but same thing with Drect TV, but concernd about service outages with them. THANKS..

just switched to FIOS from RCN. RCN was ok to start, but was AWFUL at the end. slowest internet imaginable, and somehow the bill crept up to almost $250 a month.

the HD verizon offers is great.

We really liked Direct TV, which we had for 5 years. The only outages occurred during really bad storms.

We used to have RCN at our old building which was pretty good, but didn't have alot of the channels we wanted. Now we have Time Warner Cable which has alot of channels. Occasionally, we have had problems during severe rainstorms, but otherwise the service has been very good.

I've been mostly happy with Verizon FIOS, but their website is so horrible, it's amazing. Navigating that thing and trying to get basic info or make changes on your account is a nightmare - it's something they should really work on.

I moved buildings and my old apt had FIOS and the new one doesn't. I'd give my left arm for FIOS, its awesome.

Definitely get FIOS. The multi-room DVR rocks and you can schedule remotely on their website.

Which buildings have FIOS? How is the service?

We've been happy with RCN, but only after trading in their horrible DVR for a Tivo. Before that, back in the 'burbs, we used to have Dish Network, which was great and had a nice multi-room DVR. I'd like to try FIOS, even though Verizon tends to suck at costumer service, but it's not available at our location yet.
