Discussion about
New York Economy Expands From CNBC... Business activity in New York City expanded for the third straight month in October, its strongest recovery stretch in almost two years, according to an industry report released on Friday. http://www.cnbc.com/id/33548433/site/14081545/for/cnbc/ The national economy is growing again, sales in Manhattan have surged, and prices are stablizing for the time being. Look for price increases by the middle of next year, if not sooner.

"Purchasing volumes and employment conditions continued to deteriorate at smaller rates compared with figures reported earlier this year."

Yes, you better go out and buy RE today.

not so sure about this... the article says:
"Nearly three in five of those surveyed believe their 2009 bonuses will
either increase or won't change. Only one in four anticipate a decline."

So 55% will have the same or more bonus for 2009 compared to 2008, 25%
will have less than 2008 (that hurts). I am guessing the remaining 20%
said don't know, or don't expect a bonus at all??? What about how many
are unemployed now vs. last year. This doesn't read like good news at all!!!

They didn't survey the 50,000 people who don't have those jobs anymore.

Ah, the nasty, crude aboutready is back. You really didn't know that she sings those lyrics? I know you are old but I didn't think you were that old and out of it.

How are we gonna have price increases when major developers are starting new incentive plans? the fact that they have to do that means they are so screwed. When the banks take another headshot early next year from the commercial RE refi disaster...forget it. The new leg down starts now.

licc, i must say you don't have a very big fan club. you seem like a very narrow asshole with a very limited agenda.

feel free to prove me wrong, but you haven't done so to date. i don't sense much approbation generally for you, but have fun fighting your hugely uphill battle here.

i actually enjoy your posting. it's nice to have something that's so easily refutable.
