Discussion about
I am just about to sell my apartment. I am looking to move to the UES (south of 87th and west of 1st). Wondering what the rental price for 2 bedroom / 2 bath doorman building within 5 blocks to subway these days? Streeteasy does not seem to have a lot of listing. Where can I get info on rental buildings?

SE lists 180+, ranging from $2,200 to $35,000 with a median of $5,000.

From those 180 you can subtract the co-ops and those in the 400 and 500 blocks of the side streets. Then you subtract quite a few in the 200 and 300 blocks so as to keep to your five-blocks-from-train requirement. Then you have to subtract the non-doorman buildings somehow, as SE doesn't include that in the criteria.

After all that, you're still missing all the landlords who don't list on SE, or who don't list individual apartments.

It's a huge chore, so best to either go to a rental broker or stick to the big landlords like www.rosenyc.com, www.brodskyorg.com, etc.

Contact Mike Friedman at Citi-Habitats..He will pre-screen what's
available, & not waste your time..Also, there's plenty of No Fee Apts
available..So he does the work & it's no cost to you.

Check oput a website called NYBits.com. It's a nice pretty comprehensive list of landlords.

We are in Brodsky 12 E 86th. 2/2 are in the low $5s. When I was thinking about economizing, it would have been tough to do much better than the low $4s, and thats typically in the middle zone around Lex than is neither PS 6 nor 290...which is fine if it doesnt matter to you. Before we got married, I took a one in here because it was close enough in price to the ones East of Lex in comparable buildings to make it a no brainer.
