Discussion about
Does anyone know where one can safely deposit construction debris? i'm doing a little bit of minor renovation and need to do some small demolition (all approved by permit). The problem is most waste pick up companies charge quite a bit just to take the debris away. I have a truck and can do that myself. Does anyone know where you can legally dump this stuff? (mostly cement and painted dry wall) If not, does anyone recommend a cheap and reliable waste removal company? thanks so much for the help!

I think the answer is no - not in NYC or nearby. If I were in your shoes, I hire a carting company. You should be able to get a couple of 0.5 yd containers for a buck or 2. Or you could drive around to construction sites and pay off the super to let you contribute to their 30yd container. Whatever you do, don't dump illegally - they'll take your truck.

Totally illegal. But ask around for a super nearby that'll take it off your hands for a Few benjamins. I never told you this.

They usually take 1/10 of the garbage and add it their regular load. Some of the benjamins will end up on the hands of the carting guys for the bldgs. Now everyone is happy.

Funny story back in the days bf guliani, the carting guys used to run the retailers. They'd come in and take anything they wanted and you'd have to 'grease' it to take your garbage away. The good old days. Dinkins fucking sukced.
