Is there a trick to recieving UPS packages in NY?

So, I'm considering leaving my 1st NY apartment; it's got a doorman, but the kitchen and bathroom are very lacking. I have the opportunity to move into a townhouse with a lot more space and a real kitchen and bath, but I'm seriously going to miss having my doorman sign for packages. Considering so many people in NY live in buildings without anybody to sign for packages, I'm wondering if there's a trick to receiving them without having to schlep to the nearest UPS center, which might be 30 blocks away. I can get a PO box, but UPS doesn't deliver to them. So what's the trick?
