Discussion about
I was waiting for someone else to bring up Tiger Woods again. IMO, someone with the amount of $, fame, relative attractiveness & easy access to women or men that he has should not get married until he's gotten it all out of his blood (see Warren Beatty). By all means, have baby mommies or whatever but why get married? Prenup or otherwise, it's just hassle.

You may be an ambassador to England or France,
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance,
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world,
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls

But you're gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You're gonna have to serve somebody,
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you're gonna have to serve somebody.

They always seem to stray while the wife is pregnant & feeling particularly good about herself. I'm sure there is a special place in hell for them.

say you find the "main" girl you want. Sometimes you marry her just to quiet her down. Woman can become very, very annoying yapping about marriage.

Marry to quiet her down? Lol
like that's ever worked, anywhere, anytime, on any gender.
I think his wife picked a better tactic to quiet her spouse down, a few swings with a #1 iron. If you want peace and quiet, don't get married, and especially don't have children.

the more sex workers step in to tell their adventures with tiger, the more i think his endorsements are not gonna be renewed. it's image what he was selling.

anybody else thought it was a disgrace that he complained about not feeling financially secure to one of his friends with benefits? wtf!?!? how much do Americans need to feel financially secure?

Admin. I too thought that his endorsements were not going be renewed. But his major endorsee's have already come forward saying that their partnership will continue. THese announcements came yesterday and I was surprised that not only that they sided with him, but that they rushed to announce it right away. Then I thought that the game of golf is different. It's not like football where most retire in their thirties or baseball where most are retired in their forties, but golfers can dominate well into their 50's. Football and Baseball are team sports. As for golf, It has been the Tiger Wood's show for the last 10 years and quite possibly for the next 20. IF you're the car company that shunned him, you're
opening the door for your competitor to be aligned with the Tiger Woods show for the next 20 years. Make sense?

It depends on the stories that come out, and how he comes across. If his image gets singed hard enough, he won't be the best spokesman for family products. It shouldn't hurt too bad with Gatorade, whose demographics are young men, but may not be so good for GM or Nike. If the women decide he's unlikable, some brands won't be able to use him.

right on target. the backing of the announcers actually came before the other 2 girls came forward, not after. they talked too soon without any need (i'm not a PR expert though). imagine a couple of girls more coming forward and the whole thing will be reversed for family products imho as maly says.

condoms and lubricants for sure will give him tons of offers going forward.

hey, kind of off topic. but doesn't anybody here relates golf with the RE bubble? i checked back in the day some stocks related to golf believing that it was one of the aspirational activities related to home improvement, food and wine and the like (part of "yes, we are all wealthy if we want to" mentality). for my "putting" activity, but no compelling stocks were available for the right bet. what a pity! :-(

curiously i was kind of on target here. revenues from fees went down a lot and communities that include golf lost their allure in a new york minute. but... the real proof should be a golf equipment company going bust or in trouble as those were the guys i was going after. next bubble i guess.

Marriage is ridiculous...more than half don't even work out. People should just live together and have a yearly contract that can be renewed or not.

When there are children involved there should be a separate contract to care for them financially and emotionally.

I've followed and admired Tiger for a long time. Before him it was Jack and Arnold, both great family men and men of humility and honor that earned the respect of many. Tiger was driven to greatness from a young age and managed to live up to and surpass all the hype. Imagine a golfer being considered the most successful and identifiable athlete in the world! His ego is stratospheric and failure was purged from his vocabulary as a kid while under the tutelage of his Green Beret dad. His public failure is not just about a guy cheating on his wife, sponsors questioning their business partnerships and public denouncements from peers. He put himself up there as the loving family man, the role model, the always in control super human. So it represents a fall from greatness that he'll never be able to play his way out of. What does it take for man to cheat on his wife about to give birth to his child? He has failed at the one thing that really mattered.

In my mind he will never surpass the legacy of those old golf greats, no matter how many tournaments he wins. He's a loser. I wonder how he's doing with that, or if he even believes it.
