Discussion about
Currently in 421-tax abated building and noticed tax rate went up slightly though my home value is down from purchase. Initially thought it was just the year resetting on my tax abatement, hence the bump in RE taxes. However, upon inspection, it's actually due to an increase in tax rates. Is the process to have a tax grievance request any different for NYC new Condos, than say NJ/Long Island, etc which seems to be just a simple notice of request to assessor's office? grazi

tax rates have no correlation with home values. You should become versed in terms such as assessed value, millage and rates.

I know this is old but did you ever get an answer of whether grieving property tax can be done for Manhattan condos?

Curious if anyone can offer any info on this as well. Condos I'd imagine would be slightly more difficult to factor than a co-op dev but still...
