At this point, we're shopping online, but would be interested in any information or history on this building.

The original 5-7-room apartments had typical planning defects of their period. See plans at http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/id?417316. Those apartments were chopped up into the threes and fours you see now, and some will have retained more detail than others.

Orsid's page for one of the sponsor apartments says no underlying mortgage, and the maintenance seems pretty good.

They made a mess removing the little balconets, but so did most buildings.

Wait, the correct NYPL link is http://digitalgallery.nypl.org/nypldigital/id?416446. The one above is for the Adlon on 112th St.

Just to be clear, our building's original 1912 layouts were not 'chopped up', most of the apartments were and remain 3 and 4-room configurations. The few larger examples are 5's, being upper-floor 'G' and 'K' lines. Owners have combined a number of apartments, notable 3JK (mine), 12CD, 11CD, 7CD and 6GH.

Notable former residents: Mickey Mantle & Carol Burnett.

The rooftop of the building is plastered with graffiti; makes me wonder how safe it is.
