Why do you refuse to use "ignore"?

Discussion about
I'm quite generous handing out the "ignore"s. What I don't understand is why some posters refuse to to use this feature and, even worse, gum up the works posting inane posts, essentially turning themselves into what they attempt to ridicule (or something worse). Please, for the sake of the board, use the ignore. If not the button, the one in your head. Let's have a Happy New Year.

Maybe you could suggest a list of people that should be considered for "ingore", just to nudge the process along. I'm sure no one will be offended.

Shit - does everyone have me on ignore? That just ocurred to me. So they look at this thread and see only one comment, and move on.

Need to think about what this means for my life.

Sorry, jimSE, you haven't made the cut...yet. But if you'd like to join my "shignored" list, here are some things to try:

1) Repeat yourself within and between threads, as if the readers are imbeciles. Mostly this applies to "RE is going up!" or "RE is going down!" posts. You can get ignored quicker if you don't back up your opinion with any facts and you consistently ignore facts that contradict your position.

2) Only use ad hominem attacks as the basis for your disagreement.

3) Hijack a whole bunch of threads.

The easiest way (but to late for you)
4) Make your first post a thread starter about mouse infestation.

But that's just for me. Some people have much tougher standards to join their lists. Some seem impossible, so good luck!
