Discussion about
Does anyone know about this condop building? I want to know why apartments there take a long time to sell. I want to buy for investment, and they claim it is investor friendly, and only 10% down- so why are apts. sitting on the market?

The apartments look okay & the facade is attractive but what's with that lobby? It looks like the baggage turnstile at JFK. I don't know if that's queering the sales but it would give me pause.

1. High maintenance because of huge underlying mortgage
2. Land lease
3. If someone says 1000 sqft maybe they sometimes mean 700 sqft
4. Many layouts are horrible
5. Greenhouse windows = leaks
6. Noisiest heating pipes on the planet

Enough reasons?

I looked at some apartments here about 3 months ago. Pros:

1. high ceilings (14 ft)
2. midtown location
3. higher apartments have good river views

Cons: agree with #3 above. Beware especially the square footage - because of the high ceilings, some apartments build a separate "loft" sleeping area that is counted towards the square footage.
