Discussion about
I'm a first time buyer with a limited budget (600K) - I'm dreaming of a studio/ Jr 1/ 1BR condo. tiny balcony would be great, should be near any park in Manhattan where I could go running, but - if I could see a bridge from my windows, that would be perfection.. Should I stop daydreaming or is there anything that fits my criteria out there? grateful for any suggestions.

I don't know about a bridge but you'll definitely be able to get a jr 1/alcove studio condo near a park..Look in the east village or the west side below 110 st. good luck and enjoy your new home

Try Riverside Drive 135th-155th, and the side streets up towards Broadway (the hill slopes up towards Bway, so you can have views w/o actually being on Riverside). Potential views of the GW Bridge. That's near well-maintained Riverbank State park, which has a big running track and lots of other facilities, and of course Riverside Park and the path along the Hudson are another running option.

Not much in the way of terraces around there, but one well-established coop on RSD at about 137th St. has a big roof deck.

Don't stop daydreaming.

When you wish upon a star.....dreams really do come true !! Seek & you shall find. I just went on corcoran.com & you select your area & then put in the price & there were some nice looking places, some even one bedrooms, in the village, the UES, UWS, & Morningside Heights.
I think that you can do that with all the major realtors' websites. Good luck & let us know what you find. You might also want to find a broker in the area you decide on to be on your team; despite what some people say, they can be a good resource.

Hi, thanks #5, I'll be glad to let you know. might take some time though. for me that's a lot of money and I would not buy unless it's a place I love...

Good for you & I wish you well but they say that you shouldn't fall in love with a place until it's yours; I know what you mean, though - when you find it, you'll know ! Bon chance!
