If the apt is vacant, do you still need to get a painter who is insured?

If he's dead after he falls off his ladder, he probably won't sue you and your building. If you let him live, he'll go after your entire net worth and future earnings.

And a kicked-over bucket of paint & dribbles & splashes everywhere won't even show once you hang your pictures. Why not just 'save' a few bucks?
