I purchased a studio at one of the famous new conversion condos, and moved-in last year. As all the new condos featuring, this condo comes with the amenities like gym, roof deck, lounge, etc, which we are supposed to have, but not now. It has been more than a year since the condo first opens, but none of the amenities are delivered yet. All the tenants are frustrated about this. The management company is blaming Department of Buildings. Developer would not respond. We still pay the monthly maintenance in full. I know the new constructions always get delays but how long usually does it take since the condo first opens until the gym or other amenities are ready? Can developer just walk away once most of the units sell out without completing the amenities?? If we (tenants) sue the developer would it hurt the building's value? Any way to solve this quicker? Sue the pants off of the developer! You paid for a specific marketed product (detailed in the offering plan) and the product seems to deviate from what was advertised. When have you ever paid for NOTHING? That monthly maintenance is definitely an issue that needs to be addressed...don't stand for BS like that! Is there at least some work being done? Heat'm Up! and Good Luck!
What about calling your attorney from the purchase. You'll probably get good advice there.
why oh why do people continue to buy into new developments and complain about situations like this. Best bet is to wait 1 yr after the first closings to be on the safe side. New developments have huge potential for risks like these, so if you're not prepared for it, don't buy into it.
is this 15 Broad?
