Discussion about The Margo at 180 Myrtle Avenue in Downtown Brooklyn
Pretty grim location. Ugly exterior. Haven't seen the inside.
Projects to the northwest and northeast and buildings that look like projects to the southwest and southeast. This means no mixed-use, no retail (except for the grocery/drug store that will be in the building itself). Fairly far from transit and a grim, desolate walk from any stores, restaurants, or Fort Greene proper. Yes, it's priced low for new construction, but I don't think it's worth the tradeoff.
Curious to know how this area is a year later.
The area is great - walking distance to many great restaurants and bars and unlike what zinka wrote - it is very close to transportation and it really has almost any subway line close to the building. The apartments themselves are not bad but building management sucks. And the building has some ridiculous rules.
