Inventory up again... now 8757. Must be that darn "January effect" ... ;-) We're back in to 2009 numbers...

February has been colder than July was. As a matter of fact, I predict that this July will be hotter than this February too.

You're still baiting me about the "January effect" (your words, not mine) even though the chart you linked to showed that inventory went up every January except one for the past 8 years?

In any event, yes, inventory is rising. Here's what Jonathan Miller had to say about that a couple of weeks ago: http://curbed.com/archives/2010/02/05/manhattan_inventory_changes_are_wildy_consistent.php

And yes, before you point it out, his comments are a couple of weeks old(!!!).

In February 2009 inventory was over 10,000, for the record. And no one but no one was buying.

Miette, bingo. Don't expect him to fess up for not being able to read that chart correctly. I'm not sure what "back to 2009 numbers" means when we're at pretty much exactly the same point from Thanksgiving, and (I believe) all of 2009 before that was significantly higher in terms of inventory. Either way, I think the discussion is better served by waiting for Noah's updated chart system - he's said this one is pretty buggy.

Our original exchange occured, what, a week into February? So, yes, I invoked January statistics to analyze the data that had accumulated so far. Guilty as charged -- LOL.

somewhereelse, if I were "following" you, I'd respond to all your inane non-RE related posts about the Nets playing in Newark, and all the other negative news links you seem to crave posting here.
