http://norris.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/02/18/vanishing-cranes/ Among banks and developers, there seems to have been a conclusion a few years ago that people would pay near-Manhattan prices for condos in Brooklyn, even if they were not in especially attractive areas of the borough. Those buildings are now being completed, and sales seem to be few. Some are converting to rentals. I doubt I will see many cranes in Brooklyn for several years.
