Discussion about
After many years of owning, I now have to rent. I'm looking at the Glenwoods on York. For those of you who live/have lived in a Glenwood does any particular building come to mind? I think the Andover is my front runner right now. Thanks!!!!
I used to live in Glenwood's 10 Liberty in the Financial District. Great building, excellent management and staff. Glenwood is a class act. However, they tried to increase the rent last year, which I thought was ridiculous, so we moved.
We live in the Andover and love it. AMAZING closet space (seriously much better than any other 1 bedroom I have seen - our apt isn't huge but it doesn't matter since we can store so much stuff out of sight) and we have a renovated kitchen and bath. Great service, clean gym, lovely lobby, nice laundry room, bike/luggage storage and dry cleaner in the building. A bit far from the subway, but they have a shuttle during prime times. A good mix of families/couples/older people. The only reason we are considering moving this summer is that we rented two years ago before the prices came down, and are paying more than market right now - if they won't renew our lease at close to market rent we will sadly leave. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Kay just to give you a gauge on the rental prices for the glenwood today a one br is going for about 2595 with 2 months free. They seem really nice and the management was a little arrogent but not bad at all. Good luck. I saw this in nov and liked it a lot. But I ended up in fidi for A lot more space same price.
I can't thank you enough. Having always owned, I have great fears! I'm going to ask about
Related buildings too. Again, I thank you.
I've lived in a Glenwood building on York for several years and it is perfectly fine. They fix things promptly, the gym is adequate (but could be maintained better), my neighbors are not particularly noisy, and my 1BR apartment is a decent size with a lot of storage space. Overall, a good experience.
My clients just rented a gorgeous 2 bedroom at a Glennwood Property (Emerald Green). The building is one of their brand new constructions - it's absolutely beautiful with lots of great amenities. My clients are VERY pleased that they went with Glenwood. The leasing agents at Emerald Green were really professional and pleasant to work with. Hope this helps. Good Luck! Javier
I will probably be needing to rent an apt. in 6 mos. and the UES Glenwood buildings seem nice. Good to hear this feedback. Funny thing I noticed, on a link from the Glenwood site, it goes to Craig's List (by owner) and it appears leasing agents for Glenwood are posting particular Glenwood apts. I thought this odd. Any comments?
not odd really. they are pretty desperate to fill their apartments, and if a craigslist posting gets their phones ringing, why not
essentially these buildings in york are not in high demand. are they nice? yes. well managed? yes. but you're still all the way over on york. you can't find a 1br in either of their UWS buildings for under 3,800/mo
