Discussion about
http://streeteasy.com/nyc/sale/474208-coop-269-west-72nd-street-upper-west-side-new-york Does anyone know why this unit hasn't sold yet? I went to see it last year, it's cute but needs a kitchen overhaul. The elevator is behond the kitchen... could that be it? It's been chopped from 375k to 335k and no takers. Anyone have intel?

It's an overpriced studio with a wall and an old kitchen. The resident will have to get used to the sound of an elevator all the time. Pass.

True. Just because someone installs a wall doesn't make a studio a one-bedroom.

So this is what a "starter" home in Manhattan looks like! $335,000. After your $70,000 down payment, your mortgage would be about $1650 per month PLUS the $709 monthly maintenance charge. You'd need to be grossing at least $95,000/year for board approval. Last time I checked, $95,000 -- even in Manhattan -- wasn't a "starting" salary.
