Yeah, was nice having an uptown venue. Hogs and Heifers uptown had a decent run, but its been gone for a few years.

On the exalted topic of nyc music and art, patti smith's "just friends" is a terrific book, full of vivid memoirs of NYC in the late 60's and 70's (Manhattan and Brooklyn) .

Alabama Thunderpussy (among others) @ Brownies (169 Ave A)... it became the HiFi bar in 2002, and ceased with live shows.
I miss that place.

buyerbuyer: Patti Smith's book is titled " Just Kids". It is a great book, now out in paperback. Did you see her last week on Charlie Rose?
