Discussion about
Is there a general concensus on when exactly the peak was. I have seen various articles stating various points - one will say the peak was "2006-2007" another will say "mid-2007" yet another will say something else and so on and so forth.
I think Q3 2007.
If you're referring to Manhattan, the Miller Samuel quarterly data strongly suggest a 2Q 2008 peak (well after the rest of the country peaked).

It was in February 2008 --- on the day Julian Schnabel asked $32,000,000 for the shockingly garish pink Palazzo Chupi triplex in the WV (that ultimately sold late last year for $10.5M).
For contracts on family-size, pre-war UWS coops: Fall 2007. The supply-demand imbalance around October 2007 (and the widespread belief that the imbalance would persist) produced some seriously wacky trades.
The closings on those deals were spread out over the next 3-6 months, which blurs the picture somewhat.
it is actually yet to come. Why do you care what the peak was over the last 2 years?
Do you buy stocks on the 52 week high?
I was just wondering as a matter of curiousity and an attempt to educate myself so I can put what I learn on this board in context, is that not allowed? Jeez.
Not Jeez, just perfidiotz.
Good one alamefart
