Discussion about
Can anybody give me any advice where I may find a nice live/work loft in Manhattan (or Brooklyn). I am looking to set up my Eastcoast recording studio and the ultimate would be to find a space that can house the studio as well as a simple living quarters. 1,000 - 2,000 sq. ft. that would allow for a recording studio. Place must be pin quiet. Any suggestions??? Thanks.

There are buildings on Chambers St. that have live/work spaces for less than the going rate in Tribeca, but I assume it would be very noisy there, though maybe not in the basement? Could you soundproof somehow?

Loft sorta implies downtown no? Quiet might be tough in the a city that doesn't sleep.

Try Central or West Harlem...a lot of buzz about that area. Some blocks quieter than others.

Place must be pin quiet - I'm thinking about the poor neighbors who moved to the quiet area (in Manhattan ! ? ! ?) & now you've moved in & are raising the roof.....
