Anyone who tries to claim that NYC is becoming “over-developed” in the face of these numbers is crazy. It also points out that more development is taking place farther from transit. More than 20% of new dwellings in Brooklyn are more than ½ mile from a subway, and more than 50% in Queens. My interpretation is that onerous zoning (and rent regulation, probably) are compelling developers to search farther afield, contributing to sprawl. [less]
