I can hardly believe these lofts are going up directly across the street from the Eliott/Chelsea Housing Project. I moved into an apt. on this street 5 months ago. I have not had ONE single night of uninterrupted sleep since. It is truly like living in a slum. Garbage, trash all over. Drug sales going on day and night. NOISE that is unreal. Vomit,feces and urine in the streets and side walk. Living here has been THE worst living experience of my life and I am 53 years old. I am trying to break my lease. And to spend 2 million dollars to live in this hell hole??? Anyone who does so is nuts. And believe me, the police do nothing! Before you buy, come sit outside on a warm summers Friday or Saturday night. And the project is going nowhere...so this area will not change for years to come!

When will the prices come down on these? Seems as if there are lots of complaints and more than 60% of the untis are still available. They are supposedly going to be finished in Oct. What are the chances of negotiating and if so other than price what else can you look to get if develpoers are getting nervous.

Some people pay extra to be near urban grittiness and come to New York from all over the country to be near it. Example Williamsburg. Learn to live with it.
