Discussion about
If one is doing a "gut renovation" of a single-family structure, does NYC permit the home owner to do his own electrical, plumbing, heating, etc, work (with appropriate permits and inspections)? I have done this in NJ, where it is permitted, and am thinking of moving to Brooklyn. Am looking a small brick shell (ex-industrial or commercial) to convert to a loft-style home.

At least agingtroll sounds like he doesn't need a super's help to change a light bulb, zizizi.
